Ashli J. Washington stands as a force at the intersection of filmmaking, screenwriting, and photography. She made waves with her captivating short film Photosynthesis, celebrated at film festivals nationwide and garnered her the Best Director Award at the 2024 Magnolia Independent Film Festival.

Ashli is the founder + creative director of Reflection404, a production + entertainment company dedicated to crafting narratives that amplify and celebrate the rich tapestry of the Black experience, with a particular focus on the brilliance of Black women. Her commitment to creating worlds that transcend societal constraints speaks to a profound desire for equity and authenticity in the cinematic realm.

She is a 2023-2024 Arts & Entertainment Atlanta grant recipient and recently wrapped production for Relatable, a documentary delving into how Black women millennials are challenging social conventions around family, relationships, friendships and parenthood. 

For more than eight years, Ashli served as Spelman College’s social media and creative content specialist. During her tenure, Ashli’s innovative strategies catalyzed exponential growth of the College’s social and digital presence. Notably, she partnered in groundbreaking collaborations with renowned entities like Ralph Lauren and Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment.

Ashli is a proud alumna of Hampton University, where she studied broadcast journalism. She also holds an associate degree in fashion design from Bauder College and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
